Made in 3 hours as part of Trijam #92. The theme was : Waves of light

Rules and controls

  • The goal is to match the beige waveform at the bottom using input light rays
  • The sum of the input light rays is shown in beige.
  • Use UP and DOWN arrows to select a light ray. The selected light ray appears thicker
  • Use LEFT and RIGHT arrows to change the light ray's color
  • Once you matched the waveform, confirm with C
  • The dark gray wave shows the difference between your waveform and the goal
  • There 7 levels in total.

Hints

  • The goal has irregular maxima and minima, try setting some of the input light rays' maxima and minima to match those.
  • Once you get close to the goal waveform and have some matching maxima/minima, try changing one light ray at a time. If needed come back to the state where you were close.
  • If you notice regularity in the difference waveform, you are probably close. If the difference oscillate fast/slow, try changing one light ray to oscillate fast/slow

Very interesting, I enjoyed playing this quite a lot. I really love the concept, and the fact that it comes from the 3 hour jam. I would definitely like playing more of this, it can be really fun.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!

If you'd like the game to be longer it's actually very easy to build more levels, I didn't do more because I didn't want it to  be too repetitive.

EDIT: give me a few minutes to craft some and I'll edit this message again with a version with more levels!

Here you go, the compiled game with 7 additional levels. I haven't play-tested them too much but I'm sure they are fine. The 14th and last level is generated randomly!
To get the game working, simply unpack the .zip and open the .html file with any browser, it should work.

Thank you very much for taking the time to craft more levels for it! Really appreciate it.  Hope to see more experimental stuff like this from you in the future, I never seen anything like this anywhere else.
